lyrics

It's a mess this place we think we live
grown men are just their father's kids
riding on a comet for the sun

our minds are made of little pieces
sand and water molded by the ones
we call friends and they're doing the best they fucking can
the little pieces make up all of man

sun-dried mud all over my sneakers
It's caked in good, it's gonna take a couple weeks to rub it out

We spent two whole weeks at the lakes dirty beaches
making lot's of noise and trying not to figure ourselves out
why would we sit in our own minds when we can shout

If planet earth revolves around
a sun that's lightyears leaps and bounds away from us
how come we're worried that this cosmic bomb will blow us up
It's coming closer, six billion years and 200 toasters
ready or not your god's on the floor
you knew it'd be hot, now death's at the door
he's the one who knocks, the tempo is speeding
death wants to know if there's something I'm needing
"you know I think I'm alright
and the shadows I'm seeing are sure as hell bright but...
the disasteroid is coming
and the asteroid I'm on might seem like nothing
but it's one in a million grains of sand
and I get to see it blown up and begin again
