Got up this morning
I brushed my teeth last night
don't need to brush them again
It'd be a waste of my time
cause I don't smile
and I'm not going to try
I bake todd a pretzel
while I bake my whole life
nobody smells my breath
it smells like death
don't care what anyone says
I'll smoke another cigarette
now my head feels so high
and I'm not going to try
to smile, It won't make me happy
Crawl down into my cave like a bear
lie down and sit as I think unaware
that a while is a winter for some
a small departure from what I once was
I wanna sit still for so long
that my feet grow roots into the ground
I can't change I always do this to people
who walk with me when I sit so still
I'm rooted in my own dumb head
scrolling through texts I wish I'd never sent
a deviation from the guy you know
appraised marked tagged now you've been sold
Crawl down into my cave like a bear
lie down and sit as I think unaware
that a while is a winter for some
a small departure from what I once was (a small departure from what I once was)
my brain is the solitude that I know
pumping plain thoughts to make it grow
oh no I lost my keys, stogs, wallet, watch, and phone
at least I still have my glasses
"things do not change we change"
explain why pocket change changes every day
Henry Thoreau said it, I still don't get it
we don't change we just get old
(surreal chopped vocals)
Crawl down into my cave like a bear
lie down and sit as I think unaware
that a while is a winter for some
a small departure from what I once was
